Movies and Series on Demand in B Player: Browse, Resume and Keep Track

Live TV is only half of B Player. The Movies and Series sections let you choose something to watch whenever you like, stop halfway and come back to it later. This guide covers browsing, the details page, resuming, marking titles as watched and searching, all with your TV remote.
Quick answer
- Open Movies or Series from the top bar and browse the posters by category.
- Select a title to open its details page, then press Play, or Resume if you've already started it.
- Unfinished titles wait for you in My List → History.
- Use Mark as watched / unwatched to keep track. Anything you play to about 90% is marked as watched automatically.
- With series, a "Next episode in … s" countdown appears at the end and the next episode starts on its own.
- Use Search to look through channels, movies and series all at once.
Browsing movies and series
Movies and Series sit in the top bar next to Home, Live TV, TV Guide and My List.
- Use the remote to move up to the top bar.
- Choose Movies or Series.
- Scroll through the categories and posters with the arrow buttons.
- Press OK on a poster to open its details page.
Titles you've already watched have a tick, so you can see straight away what's new to you.
Are there categories you never open? You can hide them. See "Tidy up with Category preference" below.
The details page
The details page tells you about a title before you start it. You'll see the plot, plus the cast and rating when they're available.
- Movies: press Play to start, or Resume to carry on from where you stopped.
- Series: choose a season, then an episode. Each episode can be played or resumed the same way.
The details page also has Mark as watched / unwatched, which is covered below.
Continue watching with History
You don't have to finish a movie in one go. B Player remembers where you stopped.
- Go to My List in the top bar.
- Open the History tab.
- Select the title you were watching and carry on.
The details page also shows Resume for anything you've started, so you can pick it up from there too.
Mark as watched or unwatched
Ticks help you keep track, and you can set them yourself:
- Open the movie or episode's details page.
- Choose Mark as watched. A tick appears on the title.
- Changed your mind, or want to watch it again? Choose Mark as unwatched.
You often won't need to do this at all. When you play something to about 90%, it's marked as watched automatically, so the end credits don't stop it counting.
Next episode countdown
Series are made for watching several episodes in a row. When an episode ends, B Player shows a "Next episode in … s" countdown and then starts the next episode automatically. Just sit back and let it play.
Search everything at once
Looking for a particular title? Use Search instead of scrolling.
- Select the Search icon in the top bar.
- Type what you're looking for.
- Results come from channels, movies and series together, so one search covers everything.
Player controls while you watch
The player has everything you need for on-demand viewing:
- Play/pause and seek forwards or backwards in movies and episodes.
- Subtitles, if the title has them.
- Audio language, if the title has more than one.
- Picture size/aspect, to fit the picture to your screen.
Movie sound in Dolby Digital (AC3/E-AC3) and DTS is decoded by the app itself. That means movies still have sound on TVs that can't decode those formats.
Each profile keeps its own list
If several people use B Player at home, give everyone their own profile. Each profile has its own history and watched marks, so your "continue watching" list won't fill up with someone else's shows, and their ticks won't show on your titles. Switch profiles from Settings → Account or by selecting your avatar.
Tidy up with Category preference
To shorten the category lists:
- Open Settings.
- Choose Category preference.
- Pick Movies or Series and switch off the categories you never watch. Show all and Hide all let you change everything at once.
This setting is saved per profile, so it won't change what anyone else sees.
Tips for smooth playback
On-demand titles look their best on a good connection. We recommend at least 15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for the best quality. A wired Ethernet connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi works best. If a title stalls, try Settings → Playback → Buffer → Fewer stalls.
