Getting Started with B Player: Your First 10 Minutes

Your B Player app is installed and active. Now what? This short tour shows you around the app in about ten minutes, so you know where everything lives and can get straight to watching. Everything is built to work with a TV remote.

Quick answer

Pick your profile on the "Who's watching?" screen. Use the top bar to move between Home, Live TV, TV Guide, Movies, Series and My List. Search and Settings are icons in the top bar, and the help (?) button opens WhatsApp, live chat and your device code.

Minute 1: Choose who is watching

When B Player opens, you see a "Who's watching?" screen with profiles and avatars. Each profile keeps its own:

  • favourites and groups,
  • watch history,
  • watched marks, and
  • hidden categories.

So everyone in the home can set things up their own way. You can switch profile later from Settings → Account or by selecting your avatar.

Minute 2: Learn the top bar

The top bar is your main menu. Its sections are:

  1. Home
  2. Live TV
  3. TV Guide
  4. Movies
  5. Series
  6. My List

Next to them are icons for Search and Settings, the help (?) button and your profile avatar. A small plan chip shows how many days are left on your plan.

Search looks across channels, movies and series all at once, so it is the fastest way to find something specific.

Minutes 3 to 4: Live TV

Open Live TV. On the left is the category list: Favourites, your own groups, Recently watched, All, then the provider's categories. Pick a category to see its channels and a preview.

Handy tricks:

  1. While watching, press the number keys on your remote to jump to that channel number.
  2. Press up or down to change channel.
  3. Hold OK on a channel to open "Add to group". Add it to Favourites, one of your groups, or create a "New group…".
  4. Use Edit groups above the category list to rename, reorder or delete groups, and move or remove channels.

Some channels have catch-up, which lets you watch programmes from the past days. Multiview lets you watch several live channels on one screen.

Minutes 5 to 6: TV Guide

The TV Guide shows a grid of channels and times, with what is on now, next and later.

  1. Select a programme that is on now and press OK to watch it.
  2. Select a future programme and press OK to see Remind me · Record · Watch channel · Close.
  3. On channels with catch-up, select a past programme to watch it from the archive.

A reminder sends you a notification 2 minutes before the programme starts, with a Watch now button.

Minutes 7 to 8: Movies and Series

Movies and Series show posters sorted by category. Select one to open its details page, with the plot, cast and rating when available. From there:

  • press Play or Resume,
  • browse seasons and episodes for series,
  • use Mark as watched or unwatched.

Watched titles show a tick, and anything played to about 90% counts as watched automatically. At the end of an episode, a "Next episode in … s" countdown starts and the next one plays on its own.

While watching, the player lets you choose subtitles, audio language and picture size.

Minute 9: My List

My List keeps your personal things in one place, in these tabs:

  • Saved
  • Groups
  • History: continue watching where you stopped
  • Recordings
  • Reminders
  • Messages: announcements from support

Minute 10: Settings and help

Open Settings to make B Player yours. A few good places to start:

  1. Category preference: hide Live, Movies or Series categories you never watch.
  2. Start-up: open on Home, your last channel or a chosen channel.
  3. Remote buttons: map coloured or extra remote buttons to actions like TV Guide or Favourites.
  4. Parental control: set a 4-digit PIN for adult categories.
  5. Account: see your plan, expiry date, connections in use and the Renew button.

Stuck at any point? Press the help (?) button in the top bar. It opens the help screen with WhatsApp, live chat and your device code ready to share.

A quick tip for smooth playback

For the best picture, aim for at least 15 Mbps for HD and 25 Mbps for the best quality. A wired connection or 5 GHz Wi-Fi works best. If a channel buffers, try another one first.
